What is the application of A662GrC carbon steel?
A662GrC steel is a carbon manganese steel plate for medium and low temperature pressure vessels.
A662GrC material use range:
It is used to manufacture low-temperature welding pressure vessels used at -40℃.
ASTM A662 Gr.C carbon steel production process flow:
Electric furnace smelting → LF/VD furnace refining → ingot casting → steel ingot cleaning → steel ingot heating → rolling plate → ultrasonic flaw detection → normalizing → finishing → inspection → storage

A662GrC steel plate executive standard
ASTM A662 standard
This standard is applicable to carbon-manganese-silicon steel plates for welding pressure vessels with high requirements for low-temperature notch toughness, including three levels. The three grades A, B and C are substantially in accordance with the requirements of ISO P9, P15 and P18 in steel for pressure vessels.
All Class A steel plates and Class B and C steel plates with a thickness greater than 1-1/2 in. (40 mm) should be normalized.
ASTM A662 Grade B and C steel plates with thickness less than or equal to 1-1/2 in. (40 mm) are usually supplied in rolled state. It can also be supplied by normalizing, stress relief treatment or normalizing plus stress relief treatment.
